Trangia Review
Continuing the series of video reviews, in this episode we look at the Trangia 25-5 – that’s the 2-4 person system that’s non-stick.

The Trangia is a wonderful all round system. I use the 25 (the slightly larger version) because I find the 27 too small for a decent cup of [...]

EXPED Downmat 7 dlx
I started to write a review for the EXPED Downmat… but discovered the best way to get my point across would be in a badly filmed and encoded video uploaded to YouTube.
And so it was done.
It may not be cheap, but £115 for total sleeping comfort is worth every penny. I love camping, there’s nothing [...]

Afritrex – 5 Marathons, 5 Mountains
Holly cow. These guys are totally nuts.
Seriously… I thought we were mad in our little jaunt over to Russia and back, but compared to Ben and Owen, we’re off for a stroll in the park.
I love this kind of thing; Ben and Owen are driving counter clockwise around Africa – enough of a challenge on [...]

New role for Chad
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Chad Dickerson when we were organising the London Hack Day last year.
Chad is truly a gentleman and treated me to an excellent meal on my recent trip to San Francisco – I tried to pursued him to let me clean his pool (I have no idea if he has one) in exchange [...]

Bodichitta
Thanks to Kathy Southard (the amazing lady who runs the Young London Buddhists group) over at my Facebook funwall for pointing me in the direction of this series of videos from Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche
In this video Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche discusses how to rouse our inherent true nature.

A bit of fun from the backstage party
Well the backstage party got off to a great start with us being evicted from the main bar to allow 650 Santa’s to come and go until 9pm – all in the name of charity (how could we be upset!).
They gave us so much entertainment in the first few hours of the party that I [...]

A lick of paint
As Richard Titus over at the BBC Internet blog explains the BBC Homepage is undergoing a small change… Well it’s not that small – Richard describes it as a lick of paint but actually it’s fundamentally shifting the way we think about how people interact with the BBC Online – and it’s about time.
For a [...]

So this is news?
Okay I know it’s in the ‘entertainment’ section – but since when can a sprained ankle equal news?!
Perhaps BBC Entertainment News should just rename itself Heat Online and be done with it.

Windows XP on the Eee PC
But why the hell would you want to?
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/12/07/eb_eee_pc_with_xp/
It’s just so damn wrong! You have an OS that’s fast, clean, small and efficient… and you go through the pain of the installation process to instal and OS that’s slow, dirty, takes up an inordinate amount of space and is just plain nasty… if you HAVE to [...]

Laptop for the road
I’ve spoken before about my search for a good laptop for the road.
For some time I’ve been really excited by the ASUS Eee PC – a fabulous small laptop that hits all my major concerns. It’s cheap, small, has flash based memory, and because it is so cheap I wont be crying if it does [...]
